• A leg up for Salvos fundraising

Salvos leggings, complete with mission icons and red shields, are now available for individual use or a fundraising opportunity.

Are you looking for something bright, fun and comfortable to wear, and with Salvos branding? You can now order your own pair of Salvos leggings, complete with mission volunteer icons and the Red Shield – as part of a Central Vic Salvos fundraising initiative. Interested corps or centres can also order stock to create their own fundraiser.

Captain Amy Jones, Team Member, Central Vic Salvos with responsibility for Castlemaine Corps, has been working to set up a creative but affordable fundraiser related to merchandise for a few years. “Friends introduced me to Natopia leggings, and they are so comfortable, bright and fun,” she said. “Everyone can wear them, and they look great. I thought it would be worth giving these a try.”

Amy worked with Major Warren Elliott, Victorian Public Relations Secretary, and the Brand team on the icons to be included. Natopia finalised the design.

They’re the ideal gift for anyone who calls The Salvation Army home.

These customised leggings will be available in full length, capri and bike short length in sizes ranging from 8-26, as well as kid’s sizing (full length) from 4-12 years. Prices will range between $25-$35 depending on style.

Fifty per cent of each sale will go directly to the ministry of Central Vic Salvos.

“Central Vic Salvos is a fledgling hub model, working together as Bendigo, Maryborough, Eaglehawk and Castlemaine Salvos,” said Amy. “The funds raised from the legging sales will go into our combined work including supporting families and volunteers, children’s ministries and leadership development.”
