Salvos Publishing has released a new book, The Way – Life Changing Encounters with Jesus and His People, ahead of the territory-wide launch of its new spiritual direction for 2026 and beyond.

The Salvation Army has described ‘The Way’ as a call to walk closely with Jesus and join God in his mission of salvation, grace and hope for a hurting world.

On February 13 and 14, Salvationists across the country are being invited to gather at one of 50 ‘The Way’ launch sites for a two-day experience featuring worship, keynote speakers and electives designed to equip and inspire people.

The book, The Way, compiled by Territorial Commander Commissioner Miriam Gluyas alongside Christopher Trodden, Salvation Army Executive Strategist, has been released to coincide with the launch.

Miriam said she hears about Jesus transforming lives all the time when she visits Salvation Army expressions across Australia, and the book aims to share some of those stories to showcase how the Holy Spirit is moving within our movement.

“The stories in this book excitingly share this incredible transformation that only comes through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ – step by step, involving God’s people at every part of the journey,” she said.

The book also features an outline of The Salvation Army’s present reality and future direction by Christopher Trodden.

“For the next season of mission ministry in The Salvation Army Australia, we are rekindling the blazing fire of full salvation. We are holding firm to a frontline-first posture, making it our relentless focus and inspiration, and committing ourselves to ‘Holistic Integrated Mission’ in all that we do,” Miriam continued.

“We honour the past by building the future. We honour the giants by becoming the shoulders the next generation will stand on. The Spirit is not calling us away from who we have been; he is calling us deeper into who we truly are.”

The book calls on Salvationists to “pause, pray and respond” to the Holy Spirit’s call to be The Salvation Army God needs for the world we live in.
