• Pray for the DRC Territory

Each week through 2026, Salvationists around the world are uniting in prayer for the same territory or region of The Salvation Army. Prayer requests are shared by the territory/region to help us pray with precision and power for one another.

This week (31 August – 7 September) we pray for The Salvation Army in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

This territory has 497 officers (317 active, 180 retired); 22 cadets; 201 corps; 118 outposts; 39,261 senior soldiers; 3283 adherents; 16,780 junior soldiers; and 5441 employees.

Colonels Dieudonné and Philippine Tsilulu lead the territory.

The work of the Democratic Republic of Congo Territory includes:

·      Education

·      Health clinics

·      Disaster response

·      Community development

·      Modern slavery and human trafficking response.

Tragically, the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) continues to escalate. Two people have died after presenting with Ebola symptoms at The Salvation Army’s Kansangani clinic.

Prayer requests:

·    Pray for reconciliation and lasting peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

·    Pray that the provinces of Uturi, North and South Kivu, and the populations affected by Ebola, are protected, and that this pandemic comes to an end in our country and in neighbouring nations.

·    Pray for the Territorial Prayer Convention, celebrating 92 years of The Salvation Army's mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
