• Pray for the Japan Territory

  • Jul 21
  • 2 min read

Each week through 2026, Salvationists around the world are uniting in prayer for the same territory or region of The Salvation Army. Prayer requests are shared by the territory/region to help us pray with precision and power for one another.

This week (20-26 July) we pray for The Salvation Army in the Japan Territory.

This territory has 141 officers (53 active, 88 retired); 2 Aux-Captains; 40 corps; 10 outposts; 1775 senior soldiers; 67 adherents; 168 junior soldiers; 1157 employees

Colonels Tamotsu and Kazue Nishimura lead the territory.

·  Care for older people

·  Modern slavery and human trafficking response.

Prayer requests

Please pray for the Japan Territory as we seek God’s wisdom and guidance in preparing to pass on our legacy to the next generation. We are currently reviewing and reshaping our inherited ministries, reorganising corps and services, and resizing the territory to ensure that our limited personnel and resources can be focused more effectively on mission.

Pray that this process will enable us to strengthen both evangelism and social ministry, and that The Salvation Army in Japan may be equipped to fulfil its God-given mission in ways that are relevant and sustainable for Japanese society beyond 2030. May we have the courage to embrace necessary change while remaining faithful to our calling and heritage.
