• Preaching from the Heart
Calling all preachers in The Salvation Army! Have you presented at least two sermons on an Indigenous theme that reflect the Uluru Statement of the Heart? Then you are invited to submit them for possible publication in a book that will contain a collection of sermons on the same theme.
The project, called ‘Preaching from the Heart’, is being coordinated by Rev John Bottomley, from the Creative Ministries Network Congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia in partnership with the School of Indigenous Studies of the University of Divinity.
“Indigenous and non-Indigenous preachers are invited to submit up to two sermons they have preached proclaiming God’s Word of spirit and truth to their congregation about the gift to the Australian people in the historic First Nations Statement from the Heart,” John said.
“At least 12 sermons in total will be selected for publication in a book celebrating God’s sovereign ‘yes’ to the gift to the Australian people in the Statement. This is a unique opportunity for Australian Christians to contribute to Voice, Treaty, and Truth in Australian history.”
