The Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) in Western Australia have been activated to a large bushfire for an extended response period.

The first, near Ravensthorpe, approximately 5.5 hours south of Perth, is burning in Fitzgerald River National Park. The SAES team have begun feeding 250 emergency personnel, with breakfast and dinner service commencing today and meals continuing for five days. The team’s container kitchen system has also been deployed to the site.

The fire follows weeks of similar activations, with crews being deployed to multiple fires since 1 December.

Across the country, SAES crews have been busy supporting first responders assisting with both fires and flooding.
