Salvation Army International launches global podcast

BY INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS
The Salvation Army International has launched Frontlines, a monthly podcast bringing listeners closer to the people, stories and issues shaping its global mission.
Through conversations with people working across The Salvation Army, Frontlines will share news and insights from the frontlines of mission, exploring what faith looks like in action and some of the issues affecting communities worldwide.
Recorded at The Salvation Army’s International Headquarters in London, the first episode launched this week. It features Lieut-Colonels Liz and Ian Gainsford who recently took up their roles as Directors of The Salvation Army’s International Social Justice Commission (ISJC).
In conversation with Frontlines presenter Larissa Heath, they explore the work of the ISJC, including The Salvation Army’s engagement with the United Nations and its advocacy on issues including poverty, human rights, gender equality, migration and care for the environment.
They also reflect on the importance of bringing the experience of people and communities into global conversations and on the Church’s continuing responsibility to speak with a prophetic voice on issues of injustice.
Frontlines is part of a growing commitment to share more of what movement is doing internationally. It connects audiences directly with the people involved and creates space for deeper conversations about mission, faith and the challenges facing our world.
New episodes are released on the first Monday of each month.
