A representative from The Salvation Army in Darwin attended the inaugural Northern Territory Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast yesterday.

The event, organised by the Northern Territory Council of Churches (NTCC) brings together political, church and community leaders in a shared spirit of prayer and reflection.

Salvation Army Area Officer Major Kaye Viney attended the event and gave the address on the call in Micah 6:8 to “act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”.

She then encouraged those in leadership to serve with integrity, compassion and humility.

The event was hosted by The Honourable Robyn Lambley MLA, and chaired by Anglican Bishop Greg Anderson, President of the NTCC.

Kaye said it was a privilege to help mark this significant occasion and to share a message of faith and service at the first-ever event of this kind.
