Salvos Stores has won the Sustainability Excellence Award at this year’s Ragtrader Australian Fashion Industry Awards.

The award recognised Salvos Stores’ nation-first Textile Recovery Facility in Queensland, an automated facility for sorting and decommissioning textiles that sorts wearable stock for stores and routes unwearable textiles into fibre-sorted alternative pathways.

“We’d like to thank our amazing team for their work and contribution to the circular economy,” said Sarah Knop, General Manager – Customer and Strategy, Salvos Stores.

The Australian Fashion Industry Awards celebrate excellence in the apparel, footwear and accessories industries. Winners and finalists were celebrated at a luncheon event in Melbourne last week.

Salvos Stores won the sustainability category in a strong field that included The Iconic, Decjuba, Bellroy, Kowtow Clothing, nat’v Basics and The Sussan Group.
